UV Laser for Micromachining – Excellent Beam Quality and High Peak Power

UV Laser for Micromachining

Based on a proprietary Fast Q-switching Design. The UV versions of Wedge and Onda are having an increasing success in several high – tech application fields, Including special marking processes.

UV versions of the Wedge HF and Onda feature excellent beam quality (M2 <1.3 and beam roundness >90%) and high peak power – up to 40kW – and can perform high-resolution microprocessing tasks in electronic applications (OLED manufacturing, trimming and corrections), marking and patterning on special materials (delicate plastics, CR39 lenses, glass).

Thanks to our proprietary Active Q-Switch Technology, the delicate UV optics are not affected by degradation when the laser is in pause or standby mode, but only during UV lasing action, which the user triggers. This feature allows us to increasing the lifetime of our UV laser sources.

In Wedge HF and Onda lasers, using specific HW and SW tools the company provides you, you can refurbish the FHG stage on site.

In addition, the high energy models (up to 0.5 mJ at 266nm), like Wedge-HB and Wedge-XB, can be useful when relatively low repetition rates are mandatory (few kHz range), in many industrial and LIDAR applications. See our new Lasers 101 page for in depth information on the attributes of Lasers.

All Wedge and ONDA UV solutions feature a typical single-unit compact air-cooled design as standard configuration. Optional packages and cooling concepts are available.

Developed as a high-energy seeder for advanced MOPA systems, Onda is the new DPSS ns-laser platform aimed at high-end applications. Requiring both excellent beam quality and high peak power in order to process metals, glass, plastics, delicate and hard materials.

Onda is available at four different wavelengths:

  • 266nm
  • 355nm
  • 532nm
  • 1064nm

The internal optical layout and also the accurate temperature management allow getting relevant pulse energy.  Without compromising the lifetime of the THG and also the FHG stages. All of Onda models work from single shot to 50kHz or up to 100 kHz. With a pulse width between 2 and 10 ns and share the same mechanical footprint and electronic interface. Compactness and also ease of handling allow superior operational flexibility and performance/cost ratio.

Furthermore, a new version of the digital Control Box and the new proprietary Software Interface are available for simplified remote control and monitoring.
